WHAT THIS IS: An amateur-level, online, self-study power course focused on interpretating real-time radar imagery. As a "power course", it gives you the skill, and thus the power, to utilize free radar imagery to make better decisions. The course provides both knowledge and practice needed to support learning.

ITS MISSION:  Provide easy-to-understand training on storm hazard signatures to help people utilize radar imagery, via online sites or smartphone apps, to make more timely and accurate decisions to protect life and property, and reduce the impact of warning false alarms.

WHY IT'S IMPORTANT: This course teacches people how to utilize real-time radar imagery to make better decisions when receiving Government warnings...to take protective action when in imminent danger, and NOT
take action when NOT in danger. The best decisions are made when people confirm the threat (the "where" and the "when"), and a powerful tool for accurately assessing this is Doppler radar. Accurate radar interpretation is the focus here.

ABOUT THE COURSE: It consists of three 40-45 minute videos:

- Video #1: Learn about how Doppler radar works, and its key products.
- Video #2: Learn about radar signatures for each type of storm hazard.
- Video #3: Review numerous case examples and exercises to gain practice.

WHY COMPLETE A SELF-STUDY COURSE WITH VIDEOS RATHER THAN A LIVE ONLINE COURSE:
